new adverse underwriting decision process

Effective April 27, 2017, Underwriting is changing the procedure for notifying applicants in cases where offer is other than as applied. 

To notify applicants, Underwriting will send a letter within seven days of the decision directly to the applicant. The letter will indicate what the Underwriting decision is, specific details related to the decision and the source of that information. 

Producers and BGAs will be notified in two ways within 24 hours of the final decision. The decision will be posted on OneSource Online and will include general information regarding the decision and the source that was the basis for the decision. An email will also be sent with these details.

CONSUMER suitability and due diligence questionnaire

An updated Consumer Suitability and Due Diligence Questionnaire will be available and effective May 1, 2017. The form was updated due to a California law requiring an additional suitability review question. Only California annuitants are required to answer the question.

fiduciary rule delay

The Department of Labor (DOL) has delayed the applicability date of the Conflict of Interest Rule, also known as the fiduciary rule, for 60 days, to June 9, 2017. In light of this delay and until further notice, we have suspended several changes that were set to take effect April 10. Click here to review our DOL update.
