Informal Draft Review of Rule Text
WA Cares Fund posted our first set of draft rule text on the WA Cares Fund rulemaking website. We encourage interested parties to review the material and provide feedback through email to Arielle Finney.
WA Cares will also host two meetings to review rule text and receive verbal feedback on draft text. This initial set of rule text includes eligibility determinations and requirements for providing approved services in Washington. We ask for feedback to be submitted no later than 5 pm on April 23.
You can register for the interested parties meetings on the WA Cares Fund rulemaking website.
Eligible Relative Care Update
A CR-101 (WSR 25-08-051) was filed on March 28 to separate eligible relative care (i.e. the third option for paying family members) from other approved services and registration requirements. This was done to allow more time to incorporate feedback and host additional discussion on this complex topic. WA Cares staff are committed to continuing discussion on eligible relative care and expect to provide further updates and engagement opportunities in the coming months.
Upcoming Projects
WA Cares continues to work on drafting rule text for other projects, including provider rates, appeals for beneficiaries and providers, eligible relative care, and notifications to providers and beneficiaries. WA Cares will share future rulemaking activities as more information become available.
Please contact Arielle Finney at Arielle.Finney2@dshs.wa.gov with any rulemaking questions.
