About WA Cares Fund
The Long-Term Services and Supports Trust Act, now known as WA Cares Fund, was enacted in 2019 and created a long-term care insurance benefit that will cover some of the cost of long-term services and supports for all eligible Washington employees.

About the Investment Strategy Subcommittee
The LTSS Trust Commission Investment Strategy Subcommittee is a subset of the LTSS Trust Commission and consists of legislators and administering agencies. Its purpose is to provide guidance and advice to the State Investment Board on investment strategies for the WA Cares Fund account, including seeking counsel and advice on the types of investments that are constitutionally permitted. The Employment Security Department (ESD) will start collecting the premiums that will fund WA Cares Fund in 2023.
