Notice of adopted rules for WA Cares Fund

On September 28, 2022, the Leave and Care Division filed a CR-103 and adopted rules to implement Substitute House Bill 1732 and Engrossed Substitute House Bill 1733, which passed into law during the 2022 legislative session. The adopted rules also include Phase 3 of the department’s original implementation. The adopted rules address new voluntary exemption applications and requirements, the delay of the program, employer responsibilities for premium deductions, and employer audits of premium assessment and reporting. The rules and supporting documentation can be found on the program’s rulemaking page.

Appeal procedures are found in RCW 34.05.330. This communication constitutes the post-adoption notice required by RCW 34.05.362. For more information, contact us at rules@esd.wa.gov.
